SET AN EASTER BRUNCH WITH CHIC RUSTIC CHARM
Is Easter not the cutest holiday? Seeing the kids faces as they wake up to what the Easter Bunny brought--baskets filled with bunnies, chicks and chocolates. Easter eggs hunts and celebrating with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins up until late afternoon naps. What’s not to love about Easter?
For us, preparing for one of our favorite spring celebrations is almost as much fun as the holiday. Decorating, shopping for table decor (yes!), planning our menu and making it special for our family and for our children to remember, is what it’s all about.
This year, we’re setting our Easter table with chic rustic charm. So…in the spirit of Birdies helping Birdies, here are a few tips to share and maybe to inspire your Easter table:
Stick to a color palette (2-3 colors) to make it easier to stay organized and execute. White, with a mix of pretty spring pastels is an easy and simple approach to an Easter table.
CREATE A FOCAL POINT
A runner with white bunnies and flowers is always a good idea for an Easter table. It’s an easy setting to build on with small bowls of candy, Easter eggs and décor you can find at your favorite stores. We found the cutest bunnies at Target and Homegoods that were a steal! And, use your imagination and shop at home. Pedestal cake plates and mini-cupcake stands make great risers and add to the dimension of your table.
We can’t say enough about the simple beauty fresh blooms bring to the table. They’re easy to work with, relatively inexpensive and make your table pop in a hot minute. Have fun this time of year with tulips, hydrangeas and ranunculus – our favorites! Remember, there are no rules when it comes to flowers…just have fun with them.
To keep things simple and on a chic, rustic side, we’re going with white dinnerware, a printed napkin to coordinate with our color palette and wood handled flatware, topped with these adorable boxes of Sugarfina candy as favors, along with a fresh bloom from our leftover flowers. If you’re setting a table with assigned seating, add a placecard or an initial (Target!) to your placesetting, because it’s all in the details!
CREATE A COCKTAIL
Of course, every Birdie always has bubbly on ice for an event and champagne is always a good way to go, but a signature cocktail is also a staple at our parties. They make it easy to greet your guests with, keep you free to entertain others and let you enjoy your party, too. We loved the idea of Carrot Juice Cocktails we found on Pinterest. We’ll be serving them in assorted mini-sundae cups for a pop of color.
OUR BEST HOSTING TIP
Do as much as you can the day or night before. Prepare anything on the menu that can be made ahead, set the table, arrange flowers and wrap up small details. Lay out a simple, chic outfit and a pair of Rosefinch Birdies, for a day of comfortable and easy entertaining.
Whether you’re hosting, will be a guest or joining family and friends at your favorite restaurant, from our Birdies family to yours…wishing you a very Happy Easter!
